It's no wonder he has remained a jewel in the crown of our capital, the hot ticket since he began showing his first-name collection back in 2004. As much as this season's magnificent S/S12 Stephen Jones swan headpieces, the designer is also known for his love of drawing. I have been working with it [Paper 53] for about a month and it is influencing my work as I love to draw. And any new exciting way of drawing always leads to a prolific output! I found it by word of mouth but I am sure it will become huge At the turn of the millennium, he snared the top job at Bottega Veneta after Laura Moteldo fell in love with one of his sketchbook illustrations – of a budgie driving a Rolls-Royce. Dazed Digital caught up with the man whose clothes hangers have googly eyes and who, fairly recently, decided his fashion show invites should look like a court summons, to learn of the thing he's obsessing most over at the moment..."The one thing (of many) I am obsessed with is an application for iPad called Paper 53 – it is a fantastic sketch pad that's perfect for me, I travel a lot and used to carry huge amounts of paper and sketchbooks around. I now carry one hard copy and my Paper 53 iPad sketchbook. The things I love about it is how brilliantly responsive the drawing tools are – a fountain pen, a pencil and watercolour, brilliance and simplicity. It is just like a sketchbook, but I can email it to whoever needs it, from anywhere in the world. I have been working with it for about a month and it is influencing my work as I love to draw. And any new exciting way of drawing always leads to a prolific output! I found it by word of mouth but I am sure it will become huge."
